Rajinikanth struck gold with the action-packed blockbuster "Jailer," helmed by director Nelson Dilipkumar, raking in a staggering 600 crores in global box office receipts. Riding on this success, Nelson has been diligently crafting the sequel to "Jailer" over the past months.
Recent reports from various sources suggest that Nelson is leaning towards naming the sequel "Hukum." This decision stems from the immense popularity of the titular song from "Jailer," which has firmly entrenched the word "Hukum" into the public consciousness. The majority of the team shares Nelson's sentiment, believing "Hukum" to be a fitting and catchy choice for the sequel's title, over the more straightforward "Jailer 2."
It's been noted that Nelson has finalized the first draft of the script, with pre-production slated to kick off in June 2024.
Rajinikanth, currently engrossed in "Thalaivar171," is expected to transition to the sequel of "Jailer" once his commitments allow. Production for the highly anticipated sequel is tentatively scheduled to commence either by the close of 2024 or the dawn of 2025.
