"Thug Life" has become a much-anticipated project, marking the reunion of stalwarts Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam after a considerable hiatus. Despite generating tremendous hype, the film has faced multiple delays owing to Kamal's commitments in the political arena. Reports have surfaced indicating that Jayam Ravi and Dulquer Salmaan had to opt out of the project due to scheduling conflicts.
Stepping into the role initially earmarked for Dulquer, Simbu has joined the cast and is currently filming in Jaisalmer. An official announcement regarding his inclusion is expected imminently. As production progresses, Kamal Haasan is slated to join the sets soon, with plans to release the film in the summer of 2025.
The ensemble cast of "Thug Life" includes Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Gautham Karthik, and Nasser, adding further depth to the project. Produced by Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, R. Mahendran, and Siva Ananth under the banners of Raaj Kamal International Films and Madras Talkies, with Udhayanidhi Stalin as the presenter, the film promises a cinematic spectacle. Adding to the anticipation is AR Rahman's musical compositions, which are expected to elevate the film's narrative and emotional depth.
